1- First Ensure that the Wi-Fi is configured and that it reveals connected in the frame’s main menu. There is an icon showing the strength of the Wi-Fi sign on the top right of the primary menu, see if its showing connected which you’ve 1 blue pub.

2- Next to This icon, on the left, there is the globe’ icon. See if reveals a RED color exclamation (!) stage or not? A Red exclamation point means that the framework cannot access the internet. You need to double-check your system or contact us

3- If this is ok, you will simply attempt to restart the unit to provide it a “new start”. With this use the ON-OFF button in the back of the device, next to the power cord.

REMARK: the red button on the remote places the Frame in sleeping mode with LCD switched off, this isn’t restarting the device. To completely restart the unit you must use the ON/OFF button in the back of the device or unplug the power cable.

Digital picture frames are Interesting goods, giving you the capability to exhibit a variety of ever-changing digital photographs in a frame, rather than simply hanging one photo on the wall. This is a great way to showcase all of your favorite family photographs at once where everybody can see them having them hidden in a scrapbook.
There is certainly nothing wrong with scrapbooks for storing photos, as these will offer a more permanent option versus a digital photo frame, but the electronic photo frame can be a nice companion.
While most of the work easily, there are a few tricky aspects to using a number of the digital photographs frames’ advanced features.

Reset the Frame

Many times, issues with the Digital photo frame can be corrected by resetting the framework. Check the framework’s user Manual for specific instructions on resetting your frame. If you can not find any Such instructions, try unplugging the power cord, removing batteries, and Eliminating any memory card out of The frame for a couple of minutes. Reset the device.

Frame Turns On and Off by Itself:
Some digital photo frames Have power-saving or even power-efficiency attributes, where you are able to set the frame to turn on and off at certain times of the day. If you want to alter these times, you will need to access the frame’s setting menu.
Frame Won’t Display My Pictures To repair. First, be sure the frame is not displaying sample photographs from memory. If you insert a memory card or USB device, you should be able to make the framework with your photos. You might have to delete some sample photos in the frame’s internal memory. Additionally, some digital photo frames can only display a certain number of files, usually 999 or even 9,999. Any extra photos stored on the memory card in internal memory will be skipped.
If the framework’s LCD display Simply is blank, make certain you’ve inserted the memory card or USB device completely into the slot on the electronic photo frame. Depending on the type of photo frame you are using, it can take a few seconds or longer for a large resolution photo file to load and display on the photo frame.
Some electronic photo frames Can not display files unless they are compatible with specific formats, such as DCF. Check the user manual for your electronic photo frame to see whether your device has this problem. Or, if some of those images on the memory card have been edited on a computer, they might no longer be compatible with all the electronic photo frame.
On many occasions frame not Displaying images can be associated with an issue with the files stored on the Memory card. Make sure any memory cards you’re using are functioning properly — you Might want to add the memory card at a camera to check it out. Has photo images stored on it in multiple cameras, so it might cause the digital Photo framework to be not able to browse the card. Ultimately, consider resetting the framework.

Images Do Not Look Correct

Oftentimes, this problem can Be fixed by cleaning the LCD screen. Fingerprints and dust may make images look from focus on the photograph frame display. If the problem with picture quality is irregular, it’s also likely the resolution where a particular photo was taken isn’t enough to produce a sharp picture on the digital picture frame’s screen. In addition, if you have a combination of vertical and horizontal photos, the vertically aligned images can display at a much smaller size compared to aligned photos, which makes a number of them look strange and out of proportion.

Remote Control Can Not Work

Examine the battery of this Remote control. Check the remote sensor isn’t obstructed by anything and that it is free of dust and dirt. You could also be past space over which the remote will operate, so try moving nearer to the digital photo frame. It’s also possible that there is a tab or protective sheet inserted within the remote that is intended to prevent it from being accidentally triggered during shipment, so make sure the tab is removed before attempting to use the remote.

FAQ  Troubleshooting

  • Why my Pix-Star photograph frame slide show does not show all of the pictures, especially Web albums and weather?

As you have probably already noticed while utilizing you’re Pix-Star, it gives many different sorts of slideshows. You may practically launch any sort of slideshow from only 1 image to 1 record or even a combination of albums.

Also as the Pix-Star has a neighborhood Memory, and in precisely the same time can access photos from the web and out of USB sticks or SD cards, it may play files from various sources.

So when you are starting a slideshow you should first check which source of photographs it will play. For example, if you launch a”play pictures” slideshow from the local memory then your internet album pictures won’t be within this slideshow, same for weather info. However, the images coming from email will be from the slide show as they are within the “My regional Records” menu.

As you have seen too, in the frame main menu, you also have a button named”match each of the Frame’s Pictures”. This button will be the default option for enjoying a slide show of all of the photos of your Pix-Star, regardless of where album or that source they come from.

We strongly suggest, especially for non-technical-savvy consumers to use this slideshow. It is, by the way, the default option slide show that will operate AUTOMATICALLY when you unpack the product the first time or after a factory reset.

It is the EASIEST slideshow, that you can make certain to have ALL your photographs indoors, such as Web album pictures.

  • How to avoid Pix-Star UPnP DLNA relationship problems when using NetGear ReadyNAS 1000S — 1100 series?

If you’re using your Pix-Star to Stream images from a Netgear ReadyNAS 1000S or 1100 models are careful to test that you simply run the most recent software version in the ReadyNAS.

Versions below 4.10.1 seem to have some stability issues in the relation to the frame and also folders inside the NAS are not visible from the Pix-Star.

Updating to the 4.10.1 was Work and have those issues disappearing immediately.

  • How to Steer Clear of Pix-Star UPnP DLNA connection problems when using NetGear ReadyNAS 1000S — 1100 series?

If you’re using your Pix-Star to Stream pictures out of a Netgear ReadyNAS 1000S or 1100 versions are careful to test that you simply run the most recent software version in the ReadyNAS.

Versions below 4.10.1 seem to have some stability problems in the connection with the framework and also folders within the NAS are not observable from the Pix-Star.

Upgrading to 4.10.1 proved to Work and have those issues disappearing immediately.

  • When Streaming using UPnP/DLNA from Twonky the frame Disconnect occasionally, the way to address?

If you’re using Pix-Star to flow your images stored in a Twonky NAS or DLNA server you may have this difficulty that sometimes the framework disconnects.

This is related to a setting within the Twonky server with NIC changes.Of your Twonky user configuration panel.

Inside look down to:

And below there’s a line:

Restart on NIC changes.

MAKE SURE TO UNCHECK this!

Otherwise, the connection might be cut occasionally.

  • When sending pictures by email to my Pix-Star which size is the most optimized?

When uploading files into your Pix-Star account (Net Recordings) or If Sending images by email to your framework’s email address you use almost any dimension for your pictures. The Pix-Star will adapt automatically to the size it receives.

However, there are a few things you want to take into consideration to better “Boost” your pictures uploads and sending.

1024×768 pixels, this means that:
1024×768 for the 15 inches isn’t essential as they will be resized to the native resolution of the frame upon receiving them from the frame. So for optimizing your documents upload rate and email sending you may (in case you’ve got the chance ) resize them to reduced resolution providing it is higher than 800 x 600 pixels for the 10.4 inch and 1024 x 768 pixels to your 15 inch.
– on the other hand, if you send or upload images that are SMALLER Compared to 800 x 600 pixels for the 10.4 inch and 1024 x 768 pixels to the 15 inch, and then the framework will display them however they will exhibit small on the screen. This is normal. They don’t have enough pixels to match in the whole display. Your Pix-Star does not”stretch” images to fit the display as the result is generally”nasty” and”pixelated”.

To outline:

Try to send files with a resolution near 800 x 600 Pixels to the 10.4 inch and 1024 x 768 pixels to your 15 inch, but always above 800 x 600 pixels to the 10.4 inch and 1024 x 768 pixels for the 15 inches.

Unfortunately, this is not potential because iCloud, more precisely Apple does not permit third parties to access user’s pictures stored inside this particular service.

Just Apple’s own devices can access iCloud content. It’s not a Pix-Star problem it’s the same for everybody.

Pix-star authority really also would love to support this iCloud service… because we do it for different providers (Facebook, Google Plus, Skydrive, Dropbox…)

But they can’t do anything here in order to work out this circumstance, we will need to Wait for Apple to change its policy and open up its support to other people.

  • Can I use my iPhone or Android phone to connect Pix-Star to the Internet?

Affirmative
You use what’s known as “tethering” or “private hotspot” from the iPhone (version 6.0 and over the IOS software and Android telephones (version 4.0 and above)

(there are plenty of Internet sites that describe how to use this, you can google a bit this phrase and should find some excuse )

It is within the settings menu, so this way you change the iPhone or Android phone to a modest wireless router, so the framework will connect to the smartphone with WiFi and the smartphone transmits the information to the net using it is a 3G network and this can be a wireless router attached to 3G!!

  • Can I access pictures stored inside iCloud (from Apple)?

Unfortunately, this is not possible because iCloud, more exactly Apple, does not allow third-parties to access consumer’s pictures stored inside this particular service.

Only Apple own devices can access iCloud content. It is not a Pix-Star issue it’s the exact same for everyone.

Pix-star authority really would like to support this iCloud support… because they do to different suppliers (Facebook, Google Plus, SkyDrive, Dropbox…)

Pix-star cannot do anything here in order to work out this situation, we will need to wait for Apple to alter its coverage and start-up its support to other people.

  • Can I access my pictures stored inside Snapfish?

Unfortunately, this is not possible because Snapfish does not allow third-parties to access their user’s pictures.

This is not a Pix-Star issue, nobody can do it.
We really also would like to support this nice provider… if only Snapfish (HP) could read this message and do something…

  • Are we able to connect this up to a larger screen?

No, sorry.

The Pix-Star does not have a connection to connect to an external display (such as HDMI for example).

It can only display pictures on its own screen.

  • Can it receive photo-mails when turned off or in sleep mode?

YES!

When your own Pix-Star is in sleeping mode or even if it is turned off you can send images by email to the framework email address. They’ll arrive and get saved in your accounts at www.pix-star.com and won’t be lost!

Once you change on your own Pix-Star again or it departs the sleeping mode, photos will be immediately recovered from servers and shown on the screen of the Pix-Star.
Don’t Worry, our system operates 24/24, 365 days, it’s always prepared to receive new Photo-mails from your friends and family members!

If your frame isn’t receiving photo-mails and reveals ‘offline’ from the Internet site account

1- First make sure that the Wi-Fi is configured and it shows the connection from the frame’s most important MENU. There is an ICON showing the strength of this Wi-Fi sign on the top right of the main menu, see if it’s showing connected and that you have 1 blue bar.

  • Connecting to CISCO LINKSYS E Series E1000 E1200 E1500 E2500 E3200 E4200 do NOT use the ‘GUEST’ access?

If your wireless router is a CISCO LINKSYS E Series E1000 E1200 E1500 E2500 E3200 E4200 be more careful NOT to link your Pix-Star into the ‘GUEST’ access.
This access takes the device to enter a password on a web page. This mode is not supported by the Pix-Star currently has there is no internet browser embedded inside the apparatus.
To utilize these CISCO E-Series routers to access the Internet with your Pix-Star you have to link to the MAIN accessibility (main SSID) of this router and then enter a WPA2 safety key/password.
Everything works smoothly!

  • Forgot my password, can’t log in, access denied, how do I reset my password?

  • Gmail, I send images by email they don’t arrive on my pix-star email address. Why?

When you send pictures to your framework to its email address make sure you put them as ATTACHMENT of this email, NOT in the body of this email.

Some email applications or suppliers (such as for example GMAIL) allow to paste or Drag and drop the image within the email, this isn’t good.

The image is now within an Html page in the email and NOT as an attachment.

Your pix-star will not be able to discover it.

  • How to manage the photos stored inside my Pix-Star Photo frame wirelessly from my computer (using SAMBA)?

As you Understand The hottest wireless photograph frames in Pix-Star (PXT510xxxxx, FotoConnect XD) are equipped with a technology known as “SAMBA” which makes your Pix-Star behave like a network disk in your local network (make sure your Pix-Star WiFi connection is properly configured).

It is very Easy out of a PC or a MAC to navigate wirelessly the content of the memory of the Pix-Star directly in the file manager of the computer. You may then copy photos to the frame memory, then delete pictures, create new folders, reorganize photos, change folder names, change file names, etc…

Here a few more information about how to do this readily.

In the Event That you bought your frame before Nov. 1st, 2014, there is absolutely no user name and password used to access pictures through samba within the local network.

Need to use a user name and password.
Check inside the menu ABOUT of the CHANGE SETTINGS menu of this framework when you’ve got data mentioning a user name and password to access the frame with SAMBA.

– When your personal computer is a PC.

About the PC, Open the File Manager and search on the left side in the”network neighborhood” section. When you click on this choice you should directly find a disc called” Pix-Star”, if not then try to visit the icon known as” MSHOME”, your Pix-Star is inside.

Once you’ve Found the Pix-Star network disk, you just click it to start, in you will find a disk called” Share”, click one more time along with the disk called” Pix-Star” which is the local memory of your framework. From here you can begin to make new folders, add images, remove images, etc… directly wirelessly from the PC.

Once included, The pictures will be instantly visible from the framework” Nearby album” menu.

For Windows 8.x user we have a step by step article see this:
http://pixstar.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/442554-how-to-access-pictures-stored-inside-my-pix-star-o
Some user mentioned also that on Windows 7 and above it’s possible to access the frame through SAMBA with this method
Control Panel –> Network/Sharing –> Map –> Piastar
You then sign in with the SAMBA credential and then make Pixstar shortcut.
– When your computer is a MAC.
Open the In your Pix-Star disk should be visible. Then double click on it to open it, normally after a couple of seconds it should exhibit a disc called” SHARE” this is where you have to enter by double-clicking again. The following step should then reveal to you the Pix-Star disc that is actually the memory of your frame.
After Inside this window, then click the “link” button located upper right of the window, then enter the user name and password located inside the ABOUT menu at the CHANGE SETTINGS menu of this frame (if your Pix-Star was purchased after Nov. 1st, 2014).
This will authenticate and if successful you need to arrive inside the framework’s memory.
From here you can start to create new folders, add pictures, and remove images, etc… Directly from your PC. Once added the pictures will be instantly visible from the framework” My regional album” menu or inside the File Manager menu of the frame.

My Pixstar frame stopped connecting to WIFI. I do have a red exclamation point on the globe.

a Red exclamation point means that the frame cannot access internet. You need to double check your network or contact us. 3- If all this is ok, you may simply try to restart the unit to give it a “fresh start”. For this use the ON OFF button at the back of the unit, next to the power cord.
